Joe is an experienced speaker and workshop presenter on a wide variety of subjects. He has appeared as the featured speaker at national and international library conferences and regularly presents workshops and seminars on topics such as:

Each of Joe’s workshops is tailored to meet the needs of the library or organization sponsoring the program. A suggested presenter’s set-up includes:
- Side table
- Computer with PowerPoint
- Data projector and screen
- Lavaliere microphone – only needed if the audience is larger than 40 or the acoustics are particularly bad

Listening to the Customer

This workshop discussed why listening to customers is so critical and then focuses in detail on who your customers are and segments them by use and reasons for use. The experiences of two libraries, the Hamilton (Ontario, Canada) and the Sacramento Public Library of using LibSat were explored and the benefits to library staff were articulated.
